Investment Leads and Secrets – Should You Pay for Them

Investing can be a bit confusing at times. If you are a beginner, you may feel overwhelmed with all the information out there. While it is always good to at least get some basic tips, you should also take advantage of resources such as guides, articles, e-books, charts, newsletters, and investment leads. However, you should make sure that all the resources and information you get, comes from well-known, trustworthy sources.

The internet is filled with everything a new investor needs for getting started. Unfortunately, it is also filled with false or incorrect information that will cause a new investor to lose all his or her money. There are also scammers who will promise you inside information and secrets for a payment. While there really are some legitimate investment leads out there, they are few and far between.

Which sources can you trust?

Obviously, you can start out with unbiased sources such as magazines, newsletters, and online publications. You can also look for expert analysis and commentary put forth by financial experts and stock market pro’s. One way you can do this is by visiting major, news websites and looking over the financial section. You could also subscribe to financial publications and check out the stock market commentaries.

If you want to subscribe to a newsletter or ezine, do some research on the people running it, to ensure that they are qualified to provide you with investment leads. You may also want to hire your own personal financial advisor. Some of them charge fair fees or commission rates, but you need to make sure that you hire one who has significant experience and knowledge that will help you to reach your financial goals.

Paying for advice

Many investors pay for advice, and while it may seem like a bad thing, it can actually be good just as long as they are getting advice from the right person. Of course, it is not easy to find the right person or group that will offer you the advice and investment leads that you need for making wise decisions. Do an online search and you will find dozens of websites claiming to provide the best stock market leads, tips, and secrets to paying members.

Obviously, not all of them having winning secrets, and some are nothing more than scams. So be skeptical whenever you come across this type of advertisement. Remember, in the US anyone who gives information about investing for a fee should be regulated. Try to find out what industry regulators are saying about certain websites and/or advisors before paying for any advice or leads.

Acquiring leads on your own

You could always learn all you can about the stock market and other industries by doing your own research. It will take more time, but it can be done. You need to learn how to read the index and how to tell whether or not a stock is performing well. Another way you can generate investment leads is to know who is behind each company, as well as the entire industry.

You are obviously not going to learn all about the stock market overnight, but you can learn enough to get by, if you do your homework. Take advantage of general, basic tips and strategies, and never believe any industry news unless, you know for sure it is coming from a source you can trust. If it goes along with what you are seeing with your own research, then you know you are on to something!
