“What is the Best Investment?” — Is There One True Answer to This Question?

There are many types of investing, and once we have a bit of money saved up, we like to look for some good investments. If you are a beginner, you are probably asking the question, “What is the best investment?” Considering there is some type of risk and reward involved in investing, it can be hard to directly answer that question. For an investor who does not mind taking risks, the stock market is the best choice. For someone who has a very low tolerance toward risk, a savings account or Certificate of Deposit (CD) is the best choice.

Obviously, your own personal preferences and criteria will determine the best investment for you. There are many options, including:

Stocks, Bonds, Funds, Savings, Foreign exchange (Forex), Real estate investment, Commodities

So, what is the best investment out of all of these?
It depends on how much risk you are willing to take. If you just want to keep your money in a safe account in order to accumulate interest for many, many years, then you should go with a savings account such as an IRA or purchase a Certificate of Deposit.
If you want to add some risks, then invest in the stock market or mutual funds. You could also trade currencies, although the Forex market is rather volatile. Perhaps the best idea, to begin, would be to invest in stocks. Contrary to what you may have heard, it does not cost a lot of money to invest in the stock market. Indeed, stocks can be quite affordable and you can start out with just a few shares.

“Stocks” have long been considered the answer to the question, “What is the best investment?” There is always a high level of risk involved, however, so make sure you invest in a few different stocks. Three or four small stocks should be enough for you with which to start—just make sure they are not all from the same company.

Real estate investing

Many people consider real estate to be a great investment. Obviously, you will need at least a few thousand dollars in order to buy something suitable, but if you invest in property in a solid market, you may be able to make a significant profit, if you decide to turn around and resell it or produce a good income if you choose to rent it out.

When deciding what is the best investment for you, you should at least take real estate or property investments into consideration. This is because there are many categories and sub-categories involved, therefore providing you with a lot of options. The risks will always be somewhat high, but you can decrease them somewhat if you do your research and act accordingly.
There has never been, nor will there ever be, a straight answer to the question, “What is the best investment?” The answer to this question is subjective, and depends on the following:

Your risk tolerance level.
How much money you have to invest.
Your short-term goals.
Your long-term goals.
What type of knowledge you have about a certain market.
How much research you are willing to do.
